Jeseniova 124

Unique living in a quiet part of Žižkov.

  • Sensitive reconstruction of the apartment building

  • The project offers 8 spacious apartments, which are created as part of the sensitive reconstruction of the original apartment building in a quiet part of Žižkov near the park Židovské pece (Jewish Furnaces). The reconstruction is carried out in a high standard and each apartment will have a front garden or a terrace. The project will also include underground garages. The main idea of the project is that the reconstruction would fit into the surrounding area and thus the genius loci of the entire location would be preserved.

  • Disctrict of Apartment Buildings

Žižkov was for a long time only a village just outside the corner of Royal Prague. The first mention of this part of later Prague dates from the 14th century, when it was known as Vítkov. The large blocks of apartment buildings from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries unmistakably form Žižkov. In the past, its predominantly working-class population, the cheerful life of local pubs and cabarets, as well as the hilly terrain beneath Vítkov together created an irresistible aura that any aspiring artist has become addicted to.

  • Prague’s Montmartre

Žižkov, sometimes also called the Prague’s Montmartre, is a district of the apartment buildings from the 19th and 20th century. Žižkov, a bohemian neighborhood full of nightlife, cafes, bars and artists, is situated on a hillside, as the local streets are narrow and steep. At present Žižkov is one of the most popular and developing districts. Žižkov's attractions include the television tower with giant crawling babies, the Acropolis Palace, the National Monument at Vítkov with the gigantic riding statue of Jan Žižka, many beautiful parks, the Olšany Cemeteries, the New Jewish Cemetery, the University of Economics, and much more.

  • Name by the Famous Commander

The official name "Žižkov", inspired by the famous Hussite commander, was enforced in 1877 by an active builder and the first local mayor, Charles Hartig. It was due to his strong patriotic and renaissance feeling, which also reflected in the "Hussite" names of many of the local streets.

  • The Home of the Nobel Prize Winner

Žižkov was the home of two Jaroslavs - Hašek, the author of the world-famous humorous novel The Fate of Good Soldier Švejk during the World War, and the poet Seifert, the only Czech Nobel Prize winner for literature.

  • Jewish Furnaces

Today it is a park bordered on one side by the street Jilmová, from the other side by the Žižkov Freight Station. Besides the name of the Jewish Furnaces, the name the Gallows Hill was also used in the past. No one knows exactly where the name of the Jewish Furnace comes from. One of the rumors says that when Empress Maria Theresa was expelling the Jews from Prague, they took shelter to these places. In the surrounding rocks and hills, they dug the caves and build modest dwellings.

  • Ideal for Sports and Relaxation

Today, here at the Jewish furnaces, there is "the best spot for weekend soccer”. The flat terrain is ideal for beginners skaters and small cyclists. Parents with children have the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant afternoon on three modern protected playgrounds. There is a traffic playground beneath the hill.
